Lumen for Mac, iPhone and iPad

Every agent, one window.

Lumen runs Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity, OpenCode and Muse side by side on your Mac and iPhone. When one needs you, it asks in one place, and they keep going when you quit.

Split work

One thread split the work.

Two agents took a half each and finished side by side. You watched, and stepped in once.

Restyle the composer

Claude Code

Switch the composer to Liquid Glass and make send morph into stop.

  • Read ComposerView.swift
  • Edited ComposerView.swift+48 −12
  • Edited SendButton.swift+21 −4
  • Ran the build

Done. The build passes.

Shimmer the status island

Codex

Give the status island a shimmer and a live elapsed timer.

  • Read StatusIsland.swift
  • Edited StatusIsland.swift+36 −9
  • Added ElapsedTimer.swift+29
  • Ran the build

Done. The build passes.

The six agents

Six agents in one sidebar.

Lumen tools let an agent split a task with another agent, ask a second thread and wait for its answer, or move its own thread into a project.

Each thread

Set up each thread.

Pick the agent, its effort and its access in the composer. Type the task and press Return. It starts at once on your Mac or your server.

  • Pick the agent

Each runs its own official command-line tool, signed in as you. Lumen starts it, reads it and shows it the same way.

  • Choose how hard it thinks

Effort goes with the thread, from low to max. A quick rename needs less thinking than a migration.

  • Decide what it may touch

Plan only reads. Auto-edit edits files and asks before commands. Auto asks before anything risky. Full access asks nothing.

  • Give it a worktree

Its own branch and folder, so two agents can work on one repo at once. Merge when you're happy.

What they can do

Tools from Lumen.

Lumen gives its agents nearly fifty tools of its own. Claude Code and Codex get them on your Mac and on your servers; OpenCode and Muse for projects on your Mac. Cursor and Antigravity don't get them yet.

  • Other agents

Start one on part of the task, wait for it, message it and merge its work.

  • Your threads

Read and search them, fork one, or ask one a question and get its answer.

  • Projects and machines

Find a folder on your Mac or a server, make it a project, move a thread there.

  • Schedules and webhooks

Run a prompt at a set time, or when something calls a webhook.

  • Pull requests

Link a thread's pull requests, watch them and list them.

  • The preview browser

Open your dev server beside the thread, click, type and take snapshots.

  • The Simulator

Boot an iOS simulator, open a link, launch an app and take a screenshot.

  • Questions and secrets

Ask you with a picker, or ask for an API key without it passing through the chat.

After you quit

Quit, and they continue.

Lumen stays in the menu bar until every agent finishes. The work waits in your Inbox.

Lumi

Lumi is always on.

An agent that lives on your Mac and your server. Mention @lumenbynnx on GitHub, message it on Discord, Telegram or Slack, or ask it in Lumen. Each request is a job on its own branch, and it asks you before it merges.

Composer crashes when the iPad rotates #41 · Open

you commented: @lumenbynnx can you fix this?

lumenbynnx[bot] replied 4 minutes later: The toolbar's width went negative halfway through the rotation. I fixed it on lumi/ipad-rotation and opened #42. I'll ask you in Lumen before it's merged.

  • Mac first

It answers on your Mac while it's awake. Your server takes over when it sleeps.

  • Jobs you can follow

Tap a job to see each command it ran, file it changed and tool it used, and how long each took.

  • Schedules and webhooks

Jobs that start at a time of day, or when a signed webhook is called.

  • Memory you can edit

Say "remember…" and it does. Change an entry, or swipe to forget it.

  • Spending limits

A daily budget, a limit per job, and a word from Lumi before a costly one.

  • Pull requests it watches

It answers review comments and fixes failing checks, then asks before merging.

  • Guests stay guests

Collaborators get answers, never your memory or your logins.

  • Your Lumen Account

Sign in with GitHub once. It reaches your Mac and servers from anywhere, and tells Lumi it's you.

Servers

Your own server.

Run agents on a Linux box, a Windows PC or a spare Mac that stays on. They keep going when your Mac sleeps, and your iPhone and iPad follow them too. The server connects out to the relay, so it needs no open ports, and every way in is end-to-end encrypted. Lumen Server is signed, and you can update it from Lumen.

Linux and macOS

Starts at boot, then shows a QR code and a pairing code

curl -fsSL https://lumen.nnx.fyi/server | sh

Windows

In PowerShell · starts when you sign in

irm https://lumen.nnx.fyi/server.ps1 | iex
  • Install

Run the line on the machine. It needs Python 3.9 or later and never asks for admin rights.

  • Pair

In Lumen, Settings → Servers → Add Server…, then scan the QR code or type the code.

  • Sign in there

Install your agents on the server and sign in to them there.

  • Add a project

Add from a Server… picks a folder on it. Git works there as it does on your Mac.

iPhone and iPad

On iPhone and iPad.

Pair once with your Mac, then follow and answer every agent from anywhere. Everything between them is end-to-end encrypted.

  • Three columns on iPad

Your threads, the thread, and its inspector, side chat or sub-agents beside it.

  • Live Activities

Running agents on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with Approve and Deny right there.

  • Answer from a notification

Approve, deny, reply, or stop a long run without opening Lumen.

  • Mark up with Apple Pencil

Draw on a picture an agent showed you, add a note, and send it back.

  • Dictate a whole task

Tap the microphone and talk. The words appear in the composer as you go.

  • Replies read aloud

Hear the answer when a turn you're watching finishes.

Live links

Share it live.

Choose Share Live Link in a thread's menu on the Mac. Anyone with the link watches the thread in a browser as the agent works, read-only. The key lives only in the link, so the relay passes on scrambled bytes. Allow suggestions and they can propose a message; it reaches the agent only if you approve it.

Details

Inside a thread.

  • Questions as a picker

Answer on the Mac, the iPhone or in the Inbox.

  • Usage by model

How much of each limit is left.

  • From the terminal

    Start, follow and stop tasks.

  • On your iPhone

    Every agent, end-to-end encrypted.

  • Move a thread

An agent can move its own.

  • Answers, drawn

Charts, maths, diagrams and 3D models.

Download

Download Lumen.

A free preview, signed by us rather than notarised by Apple, so each needs a step the first time. Lumen keeps your threads, projects and code on your Mac, your iPhone and your own servers. It has no analytics and no ads.

  1. Seconds

First, you type the task in Lumen, on your iPhone or in the terminal.

  2. Twenty minutes

Then two agents split it and work side by side.

  3. One tap

Next, one asks a question and you answer from wherever you are.

  4. Five minutes

Last, the finished diff waits in the Inbox for you to review.

Mac

macOS 26 or later · Apple silicon

  1. Open the disk image and drag Lumen to Applications.
  2. Open Lumen once. macOS says it can't verify it.
  3. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Lumen.app in Terminal.

iPhone and iPad

iOS 26 or later · install with a sideloading app

  1. Install SideStore, AltStore or Sideloadly.
  2. Open the .ipa with it; it signs Lumen with your own Apple ID.
  3. With a free Apple ID, refresh it in that app every 7 days.
